Equipment

  • For the oven method- Step#1- In a 400 degrees Fahrenheit oven (220 Celsius) place your chestnuts in a tray and bake 25 to 30 minutes.
  • For the stove method-Step#1- Place chestnuts in a chestnut roaster pan. (It’s a frying pan with holes) On low heat let them cook about 20 minutes turning occasionally. Careful not to burn them. Step#2- Once chestnuts are ready place in a kitchen towel and cover them for 5 minutes. This technique helps the shell peel right off.
