Ingredients
- 8 ounces butter (1 cup) (226 g) room temperature
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour (300 g)
- 3/4 cups sugar (150g)
- 1 large egg room temperature
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring (optional)
Instructions

In a large bowl cream the butter with sugar and salt until light and fluffy. You can use an handheld mixer or stand up mixer.

Add the egg and continue beating until fully incorporated. Add the vanilla and mix.

Slowly add a 1/4 of the flour and mix. Now slowly add the remaining flour but use a spatula to incorporate. You’ll get a soft dough that resembles children play-doh. You can divide dough and add food coloring for desired color.

Fill your cookie press as per instructions on your specific model. (Usually one press equals one cookie).

Press cookie on an unlined and non-greased cookie sheet. The dough needs to stick to sheet as you press them out.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) for 8 to 10 minutes. The edges should be slightly golden. Don’t overcook.

To decorate cookie you can lightly brush with corn syrup or maple syrup and add sprinkles.
